There are no Traffic Rules in New York

Hello from the big apple!!!!

The traffic here is crazee..absolutely mad.

On my way from the airport to the rented apartment, the driver cut lanes at such fantastic angles and ignored so many traffic lights that its a wonder we got here in one piece.

In Chinatown, there are no traffic lights. When do you cross the road? When there are no cars. When do cars stop? when there are no people. In other words, the lights are redundant. It can be red light and you will still see cars zooking by..it can be the red hand and people will still cross. We call this jaywalking but these people do it AT traffic lights.

Buses, trucks, cars etc...I saw a huge truck squeeze past a car..missing it by milimetres...

I do not want to drive here, The old lousy Subway is good enough. No matter how crazily the driver drives, how sudden the starts and stops are and how stupid that exit and entry gantries are the same and not seperated.

i heart new york

and on a side note...i landed in berkeley on the 14th of august..jerold pickedmeup...left for new york on the 16th of august. still jet lagged. i get tired earlier than the rest...and the guy i rented the room. sublet the room to is a dirty pig. WHAAT TO DO? I just hope the apt doesnt degenerate by the time i get back.
