Watching Queer Eye for a Straight Guy

Its hard to believe how Jerold positively screams when "Queer Eye" comes on. He becomes so disappointed when its not on immediately. This is not the first time I am watching this with him. Its interesting. A bunch of gay guys making over a straight guy. This time, they are trying to give some help to a US soldier who walks around in his army uniform. One wonders if its taking patriotism a little too far?

One also wonders if everything going on is lost on him. He sits there and stares at the gay dude with his eyes wide open as the bottle of wine gets uncorked at, remember this, 45 degrees. If not, the wine comes spilling out and we don't want that do we.

WOW the couple gets a free night stay in a presidentail suite in a hotel. I want to be on Queer Eye! Ooops living in the wron part of the USA. Queer eye films in the east coast, not the west. Well, at least thay have "queer eye for a straight girl". All that jewellery, all that free furniture, I want! I want!

Although, I must say that the "broken heart" necklace picked out for this episode is exceedingly ugly. Its big and looks coarse. Not exactly the refined jewellery you would expect. But its free. So hey! who's complaining..only us viewers who don't get a
piece of the action.

It ended up really sweet. I teared. And so did the gay guys. And Jerold. I guess this episode hit a raw nerve in all of us. A loved one going far away. The pain of not being with each other. The pain of not being to see his daughter grow up, of her not knowing who he was. The pain of leaving your loved one behind and not knowing how they are doing.
Sounds like a really extreme version of what I am doing.
I wish them all the best.
