C^2= Chicago x Cold

So COLD brrr

So cold..Alan and I
View from John Hancock Tower Signature Lounge

I wen to to Chicago over Thanksgiving with my friend Alan...it was COLD! And I heard the day after that it got warmer..great...But anyhow.

We went to the John Hancock Tower and had drinks on the 96th floor in the Signature Lounge. The view was gorgeous ( and it was warm). Chicago is a very different city from SF. Its a lot more linearly organized and very much flatter. The buildings are taller, and the architecture is beautiful. I guess thats why there are architecture tours available. I also went to Navy Pier, something that is like Fisherman Wharf in SF. It was ok... nice view. But I went on Thanksgiving itself (Thurs) so all the shops were closed.Oh, we also went to a Blues pub/club and it was straight out of TV, this bunch of old Black dudes playing...it was really nice and the music was GOOD.

Shopping along the Magnicifent Mile was good..so many shops! But the cold was turn offish..it actually snowed on Friday too. It was beautiful to see the snow fall (sorry I am from Singapore and Calif..falling snow is new to me), flake by flake. Of course it was still super cold and windy and I couldnt wait to get indoors. But it was a beautiful winter wonderland. I just need warmer clothes.

The Singaporeans were really hospitable and friendly THANK YOU MEIYI... and my goodness they eat and cab a lot! In SF, I don't take cab at all. Its either drive or walk or BART or bus. Thats it. Cab is too expensive. And the apartment was really nice too..a lot less ghetto than berkeley ones. It actually reminded me of the ones in Singapore. I remember eating a LOT. Typical Singaporeans, how to treat a guest? Feed them well! Not that I am complaining..after all, I love to eat!

Day 1: American Breakfast (Thanks Meiyi n Yongchun)
Korean BBQ and Soju

Day 2: Dim Sum in Chinatown (Good luck to the Beauty World musical!)
Thanksgiving dinner of duck, beef and turkey and potatoes (wheres my greens!haha)

Day 3: Deep Dish Chicago Pizza ( 1 slice = 2 normal slices)
Nice dinner at 9

I wanna be here when its warmer.
