Are engineering majors smarter

I'm fed up. There seems to be this trend of though that people who do engineering and math and that type of stuff are smarter than pple who don't. Or that their work is harder. This is something that society seems to have created....a way of thinking i would call it.

I rather see it as each major/ field is hard on its own. I mean, ask an engineer to understand philosophy or do lit, I think that person would be consdered stupid then. So whats with this engineers are smarter crap?
